Who we are
Hypewire is a music discovery app and website based in San Diego, California, United States. This policy covers the website and our private beta. For privacy questions, visit Hypewire support.
Information we collect
- Accounts and profiles. Sign-in identifiers and contact information supplied by Apple or email sign-in, your handle, profile choices, and any avatar or artist information you provide.
- Listening activity. Playback sessions, listening progress, reactions, saved tracks, and access history needed to provide discovery, reveal tracks, and maintain your library.
- Artist submissions. Applications, audio, artwork, track details, links, rights confirmations, and moderation records when you use artist features.
- Access requests. Your email, listener or artist interest, submission dates, repeat-request count, confirmation status, and referral campaign information included with a website request.
- Usage and diagnostics. App version, device and operating-system information, session and feature events, crash reports, and error diagnostics. Hosting providers also process connection information, such as IP addresses, to deliver and protect the service.
- Messages you send us. Information you include in support, privacy, or copyright requests.
How we use it
We use this information to authenticate accounts, manage private access, deliver music, remember reactions and saves, operate artist features, prevent abuse, resolve support requests, and improve reliability and the listening experience. A website access request is for confirmation and access coordination; it does not subscribe you to unrelated marketing or automatically create an account or grant admission.
Service providers and sharing
We use Supabase for authentication and backend data, Cloudflare for media storage and delivery, Vercel for website hosting, Resend for access-request confirmations, Sentry for crash and error reporting, and Amplitude for product analytics. These services process information needed for their respective functions. Apple also processes information when you use Sign in with Apple or TestFlight under its own terms and privacy policy.
Our app associates Sentry and Amplitude activity with a pseudonymous account identifier. Our custom events exclude emails, credentials, and track or artist identity. App session replay and screenshot capture are disabled. These measures limit what we send; they do not make all data anonymous. Signing out clears the current account identity for future events, rather than deleting events already received.
Artist profiles, links, and published tracks may be shown to other listeners. Blind discovery initially hides track identity; revealed tracks and Weekly are identified experiences. Authorized operators can review access requests and account or moderation records. We may also disclose information when required by law or necessary to protect people, rights, or the service. We do not sell personal information or use it for cross-service advertising.
Retention and your choices
We keep information as needed to operate your account or access request, resolve issues, and meet legal, rights, and security obligations. Some records and backups may remain after you stop using Hypewire. Service providers may process information in the United States and other countries.
You can edit supported profile fields in the app. To request access, correction, deletion, removal from the access list, or to discuss a privacy choice, visit Hypewire support. We may verify your identity before acting and explain any information we need to retain.
The in-app Delete account action immediately disables account access and starts a deletion request. Disabling access is not instant permanent erasure of every stored record. Contact us about the status or completion of a deletion request, including information held by our service providers.
Children, links, and updates
Hypewire is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and remove it as appropriate. External artist and social links lead to services with their own privacy practices. We will update this page when our practices change and provide additional notice when required.
